How to Clean Homogeneous Vinyl Flooring Without Damaging the PUR Surface

Table Of Content

A practical maintenance guide for flooring distributors, wholesalers and project buyers

PUR-treated homogeneous vinyl flooring is designed for easy maintenance. However, using the wrong cleaning chemicals, abrasive pads or aggressive cleaning methods can damage the surface finish and affect its appearance.

The key is simple: remove dirt effectively without causing unnecessary wear to the protective surface.

Remove dust and loose dirt by sweeping, dust-mopping or vacuuming.
Clean with a damp microfiber mop and neutral detergent.
Remove spills promptly to prevent staining.
Avoid excessive water and detergent residue.

Abrasive pads and powders:These may scratch or wear the surface.
Strong solvents or incompatible chemicals: These may damage the finish or cause discoloration.
Unnecessary stripping, waxing or polishing: Our homogeneous vinyl sheets do not require routine waxing. Once per six months is enough.
Tip: Excessive scrubbing: More aggressive cleaning does not always mean better results. Clean water is also avaiable.

Start with a compatible neutral cleaner and a soft cloth or microfiber mop. If the stain remains, use only a stain-removal product.
For healthcare environments, also confirm that disinfectants are compatible with the floor and follow the facility’s hygiene procedures.
Avoid experimenting with concentrated chemicals or aggressive scrubbing, or using cleaning agents that are excessively acidic or alkaline will damage the surface. They may even create more damage than the stain itself.

For distributors and wholesalers, after-sales guidance is part of delivering a reliable flooring solution.
Provide clear initial-cleaning and routine-maintenance instructions.
Recommend compatible cleaning products according to local market.
Explain which pads, chemicals and restoration methods should be avoided.
Confirm the exact product’s maintenance requirements before advising on deep cleaning.

Correct maintenance helps preserve the floor’s appearance, reduce unnecessary cleaning costs and prevent avoidable surface damage.

For homogeneous vinyl flooring, the right maintenance method is not simply about removing dirt—it is about maintaining the surface without compromising its original finish & function.
