What are PVC accessories?

PVC accessories—T-moulding, skirting, stair noses, stair boards, etc. play a crucial part in extending lifespan, entire aesthetic and ensuring safety and durability of the whole flooring system.

1. T-moulding& End cap &Reducer

A T-moulding is a key transition strip used to join two flooring surfaces that are at the same level. Its “T”-shaped design allows it to fit neatly into the expansion gap, effectively bridging both edges to create a smooth and cohesive finish.

The function of an end cap is to finish the edge of a floor where it meets a door, window, wall, or other fixed surfaces. It creates a clean and neat ending point for the flooring installation.

A reducer usually connects two floors that are in different heights, which means it can create a smooth transition from a higher floor to a lower one and help prevent tripping or sudden falling down to some extent.

2. Skirting

Skirting is installed along the bottom of the wall where it aligns with the ground. It is used to cover the expansion gap between floors and protect the surrounding walls from rot and damage.

3. Stair nose& stair board

A stair nose is usually placed at the front side of each step protecting the edge from wear and makes the stairs safer and longer to use.

A stair board is used to cover almost the whole surface of stairs while matching the floor panel underneath and creating a consistent look throughout the space. It should be durable and designed to handle heavy foot traffic.

In the PVC market, the above mentioned are often in pairs, forming an consistent system for clients.
